Le numerose fotografie del tedesco Wilhelm von Gloeden (Wismar, 16 settembre 1856 - Taormina, 16 febbraio 1931) riprodotte in questa monografia, curata da Annarita Caputo, sono state scattate tra il 1899 e il 1902.
Questi scatti non rappresentano che una piccola parte della produzione di Gloeden ma quel che li accomuna sono il tema del nudo e l’ambientazione siciliana.

The many photographs by Wilhelm von Gloeden (Wismar, 1856 -
Taormina, 1931) reproduced in this monograph, edited by Annarita Caputo, were
taken between 1899 and 1902.
These shots represent only a small portion of Gloeden’s productione, but what
they have in common is the theme of the nude and the Sicilian setting.
