Philologist and literacy critic, Gualberto Alvino is known for his studies on the language of “irregulars” of Italian literature, from Antonio Pizzuto to Gesualdo Bufalino, from Vincenzo Consolo to Sandro Sinigaglia, from Stefano D’Arrigo to Nanni Balestrini.
Among his collections of essays we remember Tra linguistica e letteratura (Rome, 1998) and Chi ha paura di Antonio Pizzuto? introduced by Walter Pedullà (Florence, 2000).
There
begins Mexico (Florence, 2008) is his first novel, but also a manifesto of his
critical vision.
