Pour la première
fois, est reconstitué l’ensemble des incunables photographiques –
daguerréotypes et calotypes – réalisé avant et pendant les travaux de restauration
de la cathédrale de Paris par Viollet-le-Duc et Lassus. Beaucoup d’entre eux
sont inédits. Les attributions et les datations sont ici discutées et
démontrées de manière scientifique. Un noyau inhabituel de photographies au
collodion de la création de la flèche est également mis en évidence.
Une contribution importante à la fois à l’histoire de la photographie et à
celle des restaurations de Notre-Dame.

For the first time, a book gathers all the photographic incunabula – daguerreotypes and calotypes – made by the major protagonists of the early days of photography before and during the restoration works of the Paris cathedral conducted by Viollet-le-Duc and Lassus between 1839 and 1860.
