Italian text

August 1981. An 18 years old Italian boy goes to a city near Boston to improve his English. He discovers his own America and starts to better understand himself, facing a daily reality so different from his sheltered world in Prato, the city where he grew up protected by his family. This visit provides his not always easy passage to adulthood, living dangerously, encountering racism, crimes and injustices, having sexual adventures, amusing experiences with girls and friends and, last but not least, his first feelings of deep love.
Many years later, the naive boy has become an esteemed war reporter. Cynical and gloomy, he is always ready to work in dangerous conditions, pleasing his employer, an international news agency based in Milan. In the hell of former Yugoslavia, overwhelmed by violence and pain, he tries to tie together the threads of his American experience. Despite the passage of time, his American story keeps haunting him, an obstinate ghost.
