Emilio Rosetti (1839-1908) is well-known as the founder of the Buenos Aires school of engineering. He travelled throughout the world, covering over 480,000 kilometers, from Europe to the Americas, North Africa and the Middle East. Rosetti’s clear writing and perceptive observations transport the reader through time and space, providing glimpses of sites and cities, populations, costumes, landscapes and urban scenes, wildlife and nature and technological innovations. His memoirs are here augmented with postcards illustrating the diverse stages in this fascinating voyage. The volume is provided with comments and inclusions by Giulia Torri.
