After the Biophilia exhibition back in 2017, the pen and ink
drawings by Arianna Fioratti Loreto return to the halls of La Specola - Natual
History Museum in Florence, in display from 28th Febrary until 4th May 2025.
In these works many mythical beasts and monsters come to life, as though they
were characters in a modern bestiary or a travelogue to a mysterious island
that does not exist. It is this exercise of the imagination, this itinerary
through fantasia, paleontology and the mythical beasts of ancient cultures that
makes up a new world or “terra incognita”. A world where dreams take form and
monsters come alive.
i sogni prendono forma e i mostri prendono vita.
