The artist is
born in 1946 in Porto di Mezzo, Lastra a Signa (Florence). Already during the mid-70s
his activity led him to the realisation of solo exhibitions nationally and
internationally. But it’s from 1890 that his works began to take part in important
collections. Exposed in important galleries, such as : Nuovo Sagittario' Art
Gallery, Milan; 'Florence Art Gallery', Florence; 'Il Quadrato' Art Gallery,
Milan; 'La Tavolozza' Art Gallery, Cuneo; 'Sotheby's Gallery', London; 'Palazzo
Datini', Prato; 'Galleria Colonna', Brescia; 'Art expo', Brussels. In 2000 The
catalogue Reality and Poetry in the Magic Game of Colour came out, with a
critical presentation by Ugo Fortini; in 2001, with a critical presentation by
Tommaso Paloscia Poetry for Images; in 2002, the catalogue of the works of his
last period, exhibited at the "Galleria di Via Larga" in Florence,
came out, with a critical comment by Pier Francesco Listri: Di Marcello secret
painter of flowers and landscapes. In 2003, the catalogue by Maurizio Vanni
Visioni di Natura was presented, and in 2004, in Florence, at the seat of the
Regional Council of Tuscany and in Arezzo, at the Museo Civico d'Arte Moderna e
Contemporanea, the monograph entitled L'incanto Struggente edited by Giovanni
Faccenda, with texts by Ugo Fortini and Umberto Cecchi was presented (the
publication supported four important exhibitions: Spedale di S. Antonio Lastra
a Signa; Palazzo Casali, Cortona; Palazzo Panciatichi Covoni, seat of the
Regional Council of Tuscany; Palagio di Parte Guelfa).
