Giustina Manica

Born in Crotone in 1979, graduated at the Political Science Faculty of the University of Florence with a tesis on Portella della Ginestra. Mafia e politica nell’Italia del dopoguerra, awarded with the Premio Spadolini Nuova Antologia for the best thesis in Italian contemporary history; Giustina Manica is Phd in Contemporary History. Now she is researcher at the Dept. of Public Administration of the University of Florence (Dipartimento di studi sullo Stato). As specialist in history of the Southern question, she’s now developing researches on Bettino Ricasoli, the right wing and the Southern question.
She is author of a volume entitled
Mafia e politica fra fascismo e postfascismo. Realtà siciliana e collegamenti internazionali, 1924-1948 (2010). She is co author with Sandro Rogari of an essay on Mafia e politica dall’unità nazionale ad oggi. 150 anni di storia (2011).
